OUr Story

Ketchikan Sauna Co. started with a simple idea: the sauna should not be limited to a building. It should be able to go wherever people want to gather, recover, and slow down.

As physicians, we’ve spent years caring for people and seeing firsthand how stress, fatigue, poor recovery, and constant movement affect both physical and mental health. Outside of medicine, we also live active lives ourselves — hiking, diving, biking, running, exploring the outdoors, and spending time on the water throughout Southeast Alaska.

Over time, sauna became part of how we recovered from all of it.

In Southeast Alaska, life happens outside. Days are spent on boats, in the rain, in the mountains, working in the elements, or exploring remote places. The sauna has long been a way to recover from that — heat, cold, rest, and repeat.

Inspired by Nordic sauna culture and shaped by the environment of coastal Alaska, Ketchikan Sauna Co. brings that experience directly to cabins, waterfronts, fishing lodges, trailheads, and events across the road system.

We didn’t want to create an overcomplicated spa experience or a luxury wellness brand disconnected from real life. We wanted to build something simple, authentic, and accessible: a well-built wood-fired sauna, solid heat, cold air or water, and a place to reset with friends, family, or community after long days outside.

Every session follows the same rhythm: heat, cool down, rest. Simple, effective, and rooted in the outdoors.

The goal is straightforward: leave feeling better than when you arrived.
